Earlier this year I presented at Perth’s Spin off of the main YOW! conference, YOW! West. This talk aims to question some common holes that we can slowly dig ourselves into when developing medium and large sized applications.
If you find that build times are taking longer than 5 minutes, if you find it hard to navigate your code base, if you find adding/changing/deleting code challenging or dangerous, then this session should be of interest to you.

YOW! 2019 – Cost of a Dependency (Again)
On short notice, YOW reached out to ask if I could fill in for a speaker who was unable to attend YOW due to unfortunate circumstances. This would mark 5 years since I was lucky enough to present at YOW the first time! It was another wonderful conference with some familiar faces from 5 years ago, like Dave, Gil, Martin, Todd, Troy, Simon and some new “heroes” to meet, like Liz Fong-Jones and Gene Kim.
I presented a slightly updated slide deck and code base. (Video link updated from the YOW YouTube account to the new GOTO conf YouTube Account)
It was well received by old friends and new.
